Brooklyn Italians Defeat Greater Lowell NPSL FC 6-1
It was under a hot and humid sky that Brooklyn faced off against Greater Lowell in their last home game of the season, in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. Greater Lowell played a hearty first half but their opponents were on a roll.
Brooklyn left nothing to chance. They wasted no time and went on a goal scoring frenzy. Vittorio Argeri set the pace when he scored within eight minutes of kickoff. James Thristino netted two goals of his own, and Thomas Suchecki displayed a hat trick, adding his three goals. Clement Bourret got his team’s sole yellow card in the 72nd minute of play.
It took Greater Lowell all of twenty minutes to act, and Cleon Pryce scored in the 27th minute of play. But that was it for the Rough Diamonds. They lost their spark as Pryce spend the second half on the bench.
Daniel Munch picked up a yellow card in the 58th minute and Stefano Gomes got his yellow card in the 81st minute. Goalkeeper Cody Sedler started out courageously but it was a tough start. He allowed six goals during his NPSL debut.
From start to finish, the Brooklyn Italians dictated the pace of that game, and successfully secured themselves a playoff spot.
