FC Arizona Falls 1-0 to Oxnard

FC Arizona dropped the game on March 31 to Oxnard Guerreros, 1-0 at home.

Head coach Maxi Viera said it just comes down to the team needing to gel.

“We have some people stepping out, some people coming in,” he said. “The team did what we could.”

The single goal came on a penalty kick due to a handball in the box by Nacho Coba. Coba was sliding when the ball hit his hand.

“It wasn’t intentional,” Viera said. “They are a good team, they came and they do their thing, can’t take anything away from them.  With Kevin out and Jose coming in, we are trying to find the balance in the team.”

Viera said the team balance was better last week against ASC San Diego but that will have another chance at Oxnard on June 2nd.

“It’s not going to be an easy league, this team lost last week and came here and beat us,” he said. “Orange County tied against Temecula.”

FC Arizona hits the road next week to take on Temecula FC.

“We need to keep working, its going to be a long season and at some point the team is going to click.”
