F.C. GOLDEN STATE JOINS THE NPSL

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that F.C. Golden State (Los Angeles, CA) has joined the league as an expansion team.  The club will compete in the West Region’s Southwest Conference.

“We are excited to see the West Region continue to expand with F.C. Golden State in the Greater Los Angeles market,” NPSL Chairman Joe Barone commented. “It’s wonderful to see the NPSL continue to attract such strong organizations as additions to its current footprint in Southern California.”

The leadership of the team will include Director of Football Alex Lujan and Head Coach Robert Friedland.

“We have a reputation for running a professional level program and fielding high quality teams,” Lujan added. “We believe this league will allow us to do so earlier in the year with a longer season kicking off in March.”

FCGS will play home games at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, CA.  The soccer-specific facility has recently installed a new full-sized artificial playing surface to complement its existing amenities.

“Our goal is to compete with the talented teams in the West Region and hopefully have the opportunity to be playing in mid-to-late July in the playoffs,” Friedland concluded.
