FC ARIZONA ADVANCES WITH WIN OVER ALBION SC PROS

FC Arizona has advanced to the National Premier Soccer League West Region Semifinals following their thrilling 3-1 victory at Mesa Community College on Friday night.

FC Arizona will host the semifinal match on Saturday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for for youth who wear their youth club jerseys.

FC Arizona wasted no time as the first goal came just four minutes into the match. The ball bounced out to the top of the Albion SC Pros box and Dom Papa was able to keep the ball alive.

The ball bounced forward and David Alton rifled a volley that sailed into the far post.

The second FC Arizona goal came in the 11th minutes when Mo Salama headed home Igancio Coba’s corner. Albion SC Pros cut FC Arizona’s lead in half when they scored on a clever corner kick.

FC Arizona extended the lead back to two goals when Coba played a ball over the top to Alton, who dribbled to the touchline. He then curled a cross into the box for Cesar Mexia who headed home the chance for FC Arizona’s third goal.

The second half was a quiet affair until the 74th minute when Andrew Weber made a huge save on a shot from just a few yards out. In the 80th minute emotions boiled over, when a collection of fouls resulted in a straight red card to Mexia to and Alejandro Aguilar, who was already on the bench. A red card was also shown to the Albion SC Pros goalkeeper.

FC Arizona played lockdown defense down the stretch and held on for the 3-1 victory.
