RANGERS FALL TO ATHLETIC IN PLAYOFFS

The number three seed Little Rock Rangers took on the number two seed Tulsa Athletic at LaFortune Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The first half went scoreless with Tulsa having five shots and Little Rock having four shots. A big save from Little Rock goalkeeper Carlos Herrera in the 15th minute and a free kick in the 26th from Little Rock’s Gabi Viola that hit the crossbar made for both positive and unlucky highlights for the Rangers’ side.

The second half was no different with numerous opportunities from the Rangers’ offense, but a goal came from Tulsa’s Joe Garcia in the 83rd minute surely stamped Tulsa’s ticket to the conference final. The Rangers couldn’t connect an equalizer even with the remaining seven minutes of the match and four minutes of stoppage time.

The heartbreaking loss leads to a quick playoffs exit and ends the Rangers’ season with a 4-2-4 regular season record.
