LEGACY 76 AND FREDERICKSBURG FC FINISH WITH 3-3 DRAW

The Legacy 76 is fresh off a positive result this weekend after a 3-3 tie with Fredericksburg FC while on the road.  All three Legacy goals were scored by captain Jimmy Grace.  Grace netted goals in the 10th and 16th minute of the game to give the Legacy 76 a two-goal lead.  It wasn’t long before the Fredericksburg struck back in the 35th and 40th minutes to equalize the game.  In the 65th minute, Fredericksburg scored the go-ahead goal making the game 3-2 to the home team.

The third and tying goal came about in the 97th minute of the game as all 11 Legacy players entered the box in desperation when Legacy earned its last corner of the game.  The corner was taken by Jermaine Reid to the far post where Legacy goalkeeper Sam Onyeador had to out battle a Fredericksburg defender, make room for himself, and serve the last ball back across the box onto Grace’s foot for the last second finish.

This exciting climax of the Legacy 76’s regular season boasts for good things to come as the squad prepares for the Mid-Atlantic Conference Tournament that will begin away at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex against VB City FC.  With a win in Wednesday night’s game, the team would see the winner of FC Frederick/Fredericksburg FC in the conference finals.
