BROOKLYN ITALIANS DEFEAT GREATER LOWELL 5-1
Looking to get back on track from their first defeat of the season, the Brooklyn Italians were able to get a 5-1 win over Greater Lowell.
The game starting later than expected, Lowell was the first to strike, scoring off a goalie-backline miscommunication, taking a 1-0 lead within the first five minutes. Clearly shaken by the start, the Italians were able to settle, and by halftime the boys in blue had a 2-1 lead (Schneiderman -18th, Lifka – 30th).
Knowing that a quick goal in the second half would kill the game, Simen Olafsen scored in the 49th, and it was no turning back from there. Adding two more goals during the second half, the Italians were able to finish victors with the scoreline 5-1.
With the victory, the Italians bring their point total to 19 from eight games.
