FC Buffalo Defeats Fort Pitt Regiment 2-0
FC Buffalo won for the second time in three matches, bookending a 2-0 win over Fort Pitt Regiment with goals in each half on Saturday night at Robert Rich Sr. All-High Stadium.
The Blitzers got on the board early when Akean Shackleford (Indian Hills CC/Savannah La Mar, Jamaica) drew a penalty kick, and FCB captain Chris Walter (Hartwick College/Buffalo, N.Y.) got the FPR goalkeeper going the wrong way to make it 1-0.
That was the score at halftime, and FCB added some insurance when Jake Cooper (Robert Morris University/Whitby, Ontario) sent a gorgeous diagonal ball onto the path of Julien Dragomir (MSU Billings/Scottsdale, Arizona) for a headed finish.
Jeremy Figler (St Bonaventure/Grand Island, N.Y.) recorded the 25th clean sheet in FCB history in the win.
Next up is a road weekend in Rochester and Dayton, as the Blitzers face the Lancers on Friday before a Sunday visit to Ohio.
