MINNEAPOLIS CITY SC DEFEATS LC ARIS FC 8-0
Minneapolis City ran riot in La Crosse with a hat trick from Isaac “Goose” Friendt and goals from five other players propelling the Crows to a 8-0 victory over LC Aris FC.
It took six minutes for City to break the deadlock and by minute 11 it was already 3-0 as Friendt opened the scoring with a coruscating run and finish, before winger Whitney Browne was released into space and emphatically finished into the roof of the net, and fullback Charlie Adams finished the game as a competitive contest with a smart run and finish.
It remained all City until the final whistle, with the away team dominant on the ball, unflustered in possession and unruffled in defense.
By halftime it was 5-0.
The second half was the same as the first, with an entirely in control City side knocking the ball around all over the pitch and it wasn’t long before Friendt completed his hat trick.
Charlie Adams had burst into the box after an incisive ball from Whitney Browne before being brought down by a lunge from the Aris defender.
Friendt stepped up and fired low and to the left but the Aris goalkeeper went the right way and made a fantastic stop. However, he turned the ball back across the goal and Friendt was first to it, leaping high to knock it into the back of the net.
Before it was over City scored three more goals including memorable first goals for the club from Ian Smith, Samuel Ruiz Plaza, and Ben Wexler to make the final score 8-0 for Minneapolis City.
