Knoxville Force Men Win at Home Over Memphis City FC
Knoxville Force fans enjoyed a home win Saturday night at Sansom Sports Complex as the Force beat Memphis City FC, 3-1.
The first point was scored by the Force’s Tim Baker in the 39th minute for the lead headed into halftime. Following the break, Ashley Kelynack scored in the 50th minute off an assist by Cameron Schneider to put Knoxville up 2-0.
Memphis put its lone point on the board in the 76th minute with a volley by Mustapha Wadda assisted by Shota Nishi.
Knoxville’s Kalulu Bamba answered with a goal in the 86th minute, giving the Force their third and final point of the match.
Force general manager Derrick Long was pleased with the outcome. “Tonight was a solid win for our guys. I’m pleased with their effort, and this coming week will be a good time to rest and prepare for our next game.”
That next National Premier Soccer League game is a road match versus Birmingham on June 17.
