Saturday’s game between the Seacoast United Phantoms and New York Cosmos B showed both teams intensity in what started off as a close game but ultimately ended in a 3-0 Cosmos win.

Kicking off at 3:00 pm at the Phantoms’ home field in Amesbury, MA, the game launched a doubleheader weekend for the Phantoms. Cosmos B scored early with a goal from forward Bljedi Bardic in the ninth minute of the match. Down 0-1, the Phantoms fought hard in the first half in an attempt to tie the game up, with players Kyle Brewster and Abdulkadir Haji keeping good pressure on the Cosmos defense. The remainder of the first half the Phantoms kept the pressure on with chances from Brewster and Rizzy Misiri with shots going just wide. With the whistle blowing for halftime, the score remained 1-0 to the Cosmos.

In the second half, the Phantoms continued to search for a tying goal with chances again from Misiri but to no avail. Late in the second half a shot from Cosmos B’s Mohammad Rashid put them up 2-0 and was followed shortly by another goal from Cosmos B’s Jose Najera to increase their lead and ultimately seal the win. The Phantoms continue their doubleheader weekend tomorrow kicking off at 1:00 pm against TSF FC.
