VAQUEROS WIN 3-0 IN SPECIAL FWISD NIGHT VERSUS DUTCH LIONS

The Vaqueros came out itching to score right away and just 20 seconds into the match Jesse Milrario did just that for the Boys in Blue.

The special Fort Worth ISD match featured a 3-0 victory for the Vaqueros at historic Farrington Field on Saturday.

The Vaqueros dominated the first half ball possession against the Dutch Lions and had several chances to extend the lead but after 45 minutes the score remained 1-0.

The second half proved a different story as the Vaqueros capitalized on their opportunities.

“I thought the boys did really well when we pressured,” said coach Nick Stavrou. “We seemed to cause them some problems and created opportunities.”

The Vaqueros went up 2-0 minutes after the second half began as Jamie Lovegrove converted a penalty kick.

The Vaqueros scored again in the 76th minute when Marko Ortiz gave the Vaqueros a 3-0 lead.

The Dutch Lions couldn’t capitalize on the little opportunities they had to score as the Vaqueros defense did a great job of closing in the on the ball.

The Fort Worth Vaqueros record improves to 2-0 on the year.

The next game for Vaqueros will be on the road against Shreveport Rafters on Wednesday, May 24.
