Myrtle Beach Mutiny

Myrtle Beach is coming off back-to-back conference championships and should be a force to reckon with in the national playoff scene.  They finished the regular season with an impressive 6-1-3 record.

Offense: The Mutiny attack is led by the dynamic duo of Jon Ander Ibarrondo (five goals, five assists) and Aksel Juul (five goals, three assists).  Ibarrondo just happens to be the reigning Mitre Golden Ball winner after finishing the 2015 season with thirteen goals and three assists.  He also won Mitre National Player of the Week honors earlier this season.

Defense: Center back Cameron Burrows is the foundation of Myrtle Beach’s defense.  He is a versatile player that can also contribute to the attack, tallying one goal and one assist in nine starts.  The Mutiny have a pair of solid goalkeepers in Sean Teepen (.83 GAA, two shutouts) and Robert Beebe (1.00 GAA, one shutout).

Tobacco Road FC

Tobacco Road (3-4-3) made the playoffs in its inaugural season, which is an incredible accomplishment for an expansion side.

Offense: Striker Evan De Ycaza, who also received Player of the Week honors earlier this season, is the team’s leading scorer with five goals and two assists.

Defense: Center back Sonny Mukungu and goalkeeper Benjamin Hummel are the leaders of the Tobacco Road defense.

Notable Quotable:“The 2016 NPSL regular season has been a tremendous opportunity for Tobacco Road FC and one that we will always remember.  We are very pleased to have qualified for the conference playoffs in our inaugural season, but not satisfied and we couldn’t be more excited to head down to Myrtle Beach to face the top-seeded Mutiny.”- Seth Kaplan, Tobacco Road FC Founding Partner
