FC BUFFALO DEFEAT FC INDIANA 1-0 AT HOME

FC Buffalo’s shutout streak reached 226 minutes across all competitions as the Blitzers picked up a 1-0 win over visiting FC Indiana on Sunday at Robert E. Rich All-High Stadium.
The lone goal came off a set piece, as Ian McGrath (University of Evansville) picked up his second goal of the season when he rose high to head Jack Donaldson’s (Hartwick College) corner kick past FCI goalkeeper Brendan Allen.
“I think after we came out in the 2nd half, we wanted to calm things down a little bit and try to play through the midfield more,” McGrath observed. “What was really effective, we calmed the ball down and got it through the midfield and switched it out and got down the line and got crosses in. That was definitely our tactic for the 2nd half and it paid off.”
That was all the hosts needed thanks to another solid night along the back line and tidy goalkeeping from Nick Jeffs (University of Louisville). “We’ve been working on finishing all week,” McGrath concluded. “We’ve been a little unlucky, but we’ve pounding it and working, and trying to hit the target as much as possible, and we did an alright job with that today.”
