FC Wichita (Home) vs. Shreveport Rafters FC (Away)

Game Details:  Wednesday, July 6th, 7:00 pm at Stryker Soccer Complex in Wichita

Ticket Details: $7

FC Wichita

FC Wichita finished third in the South Central Conference thanks to an impressive 9-2-1 record.  They were South Central Conference champions in 2015 after finishing at 11-3 in their inaugural season.

Offense: Forward Richard Osterloh continues the tradition of great Wichita playmakers.  The offense runs through this prolific goalscorer from Brazil.

Defense: Center back Kevin Ten Eyck is the heart and soul of the FC Wichita defense.   He is a versatile player who was responsible for the 2015 Staples Make More Happen Goal of the Year.  He has experience playing indoor soccer with the Wichita Wings, Wichita B-52s, and the U.S. Futsal National Team.  FC Wichita used three different goalkeepers this season, but Mark Weir is expected to be the starter in tonight’s playoff match.

Shreveport Rafters FC

Rafters FC finished the 2016 regular season with a 5-5-2 record, earning sixth place in the South Central Conference.  They made the playoffs in their first NPSL season, which is an amazing accomplishment.

Offense:  Shreveport’s attack is led by forward Steven Bush, who led the team with four goals and two assists during the regular season.

Defense:  The defense is led by center back Sean French and goalkeeper Lance Quini.  French finished the regular season with 11 starts from 12 games played.  Quini had one shutout, 62 saves, and a 1.4 GAA.

Notable Quote: “We had a goal as an expansion team to reach the playoffs and we achieved that as we head to our first round match against Wichita.  It’s been a terrific season and building a winning culture with the amount of community support has been fantastic.” – Greg Palmer, Rafters FC Head Coach
