
RAILHAWKS NPSL FALLS TO TOBACCO ROAD FC
The Carolina RailHawks NPSL faced off against Triangle rival Tobacco Road FC Saturday, June 4 at Koka Booth Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. Despite scoring first, the RailHawks suffered a 2-1 loss after a late goal that secured Tobacco Road’s lead.
The RailHawks were dangerous in the opening minutes, creating multiple opportunities with quick, attacking play. Clayton Sparks drew first blood for Carolina in the 11th minute with a simple finish from Nils Bruening’s cross that snuck by Tobacco Road’s defense. Tobacco Road fought back as Evan De Ycaza capitalized on a counter attack in the 57th minute, and Cameron Moseley scored the winning goal in the 89th minute.
The RailHawks NPSL is back in action on Friday, June 10th as they travel south to take on the Georgia Revolution. The team’s last encounter with the Revolution resulted in a 4-0 shutout for the RailHawks.
