OFFENSE RETURNS TO HASENTAL’S REPERTOIRE IN 4-1 OVER CORINTHIANS USA
The windswept synthetic turf of Chino High School was put to good use Saturday afternoon as Los Conejos moved the ball from box to box for much of the 90 minutes in this Southwest Conference match versus Corinthians USA.
The scoring opened when an opportunistic Corinthians striker, made the most of an FCH mix-up in the back to put the home team up 1-0 in the 40th minute.
Hasental responded with the equalizer just before halftime when striker Cameron Artigliere finished a combination play in the box by beating the Corinthians keeper to the far post. Artigliere put FCH up 2-1 in the 50th when he ran onto a Chavarria through ball before slotting it past the Corinthians keeper.
The home team put forth several dangerous attacking movements, although much of the second half was controlled by FCH, which resulted in two more goals, one a piece for Conriquez and Alingue, bringing Hasental’s tally to four goals on the day.
The result kept the Conejo Valley Club in the fifth spot in the NPSL Southwest Conference table, but moved them to within one win of second place with five more games remaining. Next up for FC Hasental will be a road trip to Galway Downs where they will take on the Quails of Temecula. The match is slated for Saturday, May 28 with a 5 pm kickoff.
