Russell & Hogan to Lead Myrtle Beach Mutiny
The Myrtle Beach Mutiny is pleased to announce that current Coastal Carolina coaches Kyle Russell and Paul Hogan have been appointed co-head coaches for the upcoming 2016 season.
“We are very fortunate to borrow both of these guys for the summer,” Mutiny Sporting Director Pat Piscitelli remarked. “To have two experienced D-I coaches lead the Mutiny should attract very good players to our upcoming tryouts. The relationship with the coaches will also build a very strong bond between our youth soccer club Coast FA and Coastal Carolina.”
Russell currently serves as the associate head coach for the Coastal Carolina men’s program and has been with the school for many years. He was a four-year defender for the Chants from 2005-2008 before starting his CCU coaching career in 2009.
“I look forward to running the NPSL team this summer in addition to my responsibilities with CCU,” Russell added. “It will allow me to give back to our community and help grow the game locally. I hope Coach Hogan and I can build on the Mutiny’s success from last season.”
Hogan is currently the head coach of the Coastal Carolina women’s program. He has held this position for the past five seasons after coaching stints at Allegheny College, Duke, and the University of Colorado. Paul played his college career at the University of Charleston (WV) where he was a goalkeeper.
“I look forward to working with my good friend Kyle this summer while also strengthening my relationship with the local soccer community,” Hogan concluded. “We are both excited for this opportunity.”
