Dallas City FC picked up a 2-0 victory over the Fort Worth Vaqueros in the first leg of the Trinity River Cup. The match took place at LaGrave Field in front of 2,116 fans, marking another impressive showing in the Fort Worth soccer community. The series now heads to Dallas on June 7 where the Vaqueros will have to crawl out of the two-goal hole.
“I thought the team played well. We stuck to our game plan,” Vaqueros head coach Mark Snell said. “Overall, pleased. Not many teams can dominate a team being a man down and I think we did that. I think we were a little unlucky we should have scored three or four goals.”
