The Myrtle Beach Mutiny played their home opener Saturday night against conference foe Gate City FC and emerged with a 3-2 win.

Goals by Jose Cubillian and Max Weston in the first half gave the Mutiny a 2-1 lead at the break. A late goal by Robert Bass in the 88th minute gave the Mutiny the lead at 3-2 and the Mutiny were able to fight off the late pressure against Gate City FC.

Dallas City FC picked up a 2-0 victory over the Fort Worth Vaqueros in the first leg of the Trinity River Cup.  The match took place at LaGrave Field in front of 2,116 fans, marking another impressive showing in the Fort Worth soccer community. The series now heads to Dallas on June 7 where the Vaqueros will have to crawl out of the two-goal hole.

“I thought the team played well. We stuck to our game plan,” Vaqueros head coach Mark Snell said. “Overall, pleased. Not many teams can dominate a team being a man down and I think we did that. I think we were a little unlucky we should have scored three or four goals.”

Oklahoma City FC earned a 1-1 draw with the Joplin Demize on Saturday.  Stephen Cummings struck first for OKC in the 19th minute before David Paul equalized for the Demize just two minutes later.  Oklahoma City FC would fall to the Liverpool Warriors 3-2 on Sunday as goals from Raphael Bonelle and Nat Scott wee just enough.  A late run of goals from the Warriors finished with the game-winner from Taylor Curtis-Wheeler in the 80th minute.
