
ANOTHER WEEKEND OF GREAT SOCCER IN THE WEST
Another successful week of regular season play has passed for the NPSL’s West Region.
FC Hasental got back to their winning ways with a 4-1 win over FC Santa Clarita Storm. Goals from Armando Gaitan (4th minute) and Chris Cummings (40th minute) gave FCH a comfortable lead at half time with second half goals from Faisal Abduljawad and Carlos Benavides sealing the victory.
“We wanted to impose our style of play on this match, and I believe we were successful,” FC Hasental head coach Eric Warner commented.
He also praised the Hasental backline of Alberto Rosas, Johnny Martinez, and Alex Trejo.
The San Diego Flash (6-0-1) downed cross-city rivals Del Rey City (0-6-0) by a margin of 7-0.
The scoring at Mira Mesa High School began in the 7th minute with a goal from Nick Hamilton. Justin Picou and former New England Revolution midfielder Ryan Guy followed with two goals apiece with Sergio Valle-Ortiz and Sergio Amezcua adding single goals of their own.
FC Force were able to use their superior ball movement, composure, and midfield play to win a pivotal conference game 3-2 against Temecula FC. Temecula struggled mightily against the more seasoned and well-groomed Force, committing costly penalties that turned into important goals for their opponent.
In Northwest Conference action, Seattle Sporting FC topped Inter United FC 2-0 at Foster High School. Vinicius Oliveira and Victor Garcia provided the scoring for Seattle in this rivalry matchup.
