FORMER CFC PLAYER SIGNS WITH HOUSTON DYNAMO
The Houston Dynamo have signed former Chattanooga FC forward Mark Sherrod. Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sherrod, 20, was selected with the 32nd pick (second round) of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of Memphis. He scored 42 career goals in four seasons and was named Conference USA Player of the Year in 2011 after scoring 19 goals, a school-record. The Knoxville, Tenn. native was an All-American Athletic Conference selection after tallying seven goals in 18 games with the Tigers in 2013. The 6-foot-3 forward was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year in 2012 after scoring 12 goals.
The Houston Dynamo will open the 2014 season on March 8 against the New England Revolution, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
