SAN DIEGO FLASH ANNOUNCES NEW STADIUM
In their 4th season, the San Diego Flash Soccer Club will be playing U.S. Open Cup tournament and regular season home games at the stadium of Mira Mesa High School, which seats up to 5,000 fans.
The prestigious Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest national soccer tournament in the country at 101 years old in 2014.
The San Diego Flash will host it’s first U.S. Open Cup qualifier match in Mira Mesa on March 9th with a kickoff at 6:30 pm. The opponent is yet to be determined. It will be between two other teams (Temecula FC and FC Force) who will play on the weekend of March 1st for the right to advance and play against the San Diego Flash.

We also look forward to giving families in San Diego an affordable and fun atmosphere on gamedays. Our motto is ‘Showing Youth Players the Path to Pro Soccer’. We believe our role in the local soccer community is to give kids and parents in San Diego the great experience of watching top soccer in person; in their own hometown.”
If the Flash wins, it will have a chance to host another qualifier match in San Diego on Sunday, March 16. The hosting location will be determined by the seeding of the surviving opponents in the tournament,

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the U.S. and the world’s third-longest-running open soccer tournament. It is open to all United States Soccer Federation affiliated teams, from amateur adult club teams to the professional clubs of Major League Soccer.
The regular season for the San Diego Flash will begin the week following the U.S. Open Cup qualification matches. On March 22 the San Diego Club will host FC Santa Clarita Storm at Mira Mesa High School for their 1st match of their 4th season competing in the National Premier Soccer League.
