INTER UNITED FC ANNOUNCE STAFF FOR 2014
Inter United FC is proud to announce two additions to their staff for the 2014 NPSL season.
Federal Way, WA native Scott Elston has been named the head coach of the NPSL squad. He has been coaching youth soccer in the state of Washington for the past 12 years. Most recently he has served as head coach at Rainier Beach HS and president of the TUSK Soccer Club.
The youth program at TUSK Soccer Club is incredibly diverse, featuring 290 players from 20 different countries and a variety of socio-economic backgrounds.
“I’m extremely honored to be the first-ever head coach for Inter United’s NPSL squad,” Elston remarked. “The chance to continue directing players after high school is incredibly exciting. Our main objective is to help them get to the next level.”
Elston is joined on the Inter United staff by new GM George Argo.
Argo is himself a former Inter United youth player, playing with the club from 2002 to 2007. He is a 2010 graduate of the University of Washington, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.
“It’s a great opportunity for me. I’ve always wanted to be more involved in the community,” Argo added. “We are going to be competitive and put a good product on the field.”
Argo went on to gain years of valuable experience in the business management field, recently serving as a branch manager for Key Bank. His plans for the team include engaging the community and growing the sport statewide.
“Inter United’s vision involves providing opportunities for all players to showcase their skills, something both Scott and George believe in,” Inter United Founder and Board Director Nasir Tura concluded. “I know that they will help our players get to that next level, something that is so very important to all of us.”
