Georgia Revolution FC Defeats Chattanooga FC 3-2

By Georgia Revolution FC

Georgia Revolution FC entered the weekend without a win to start their 2019 campaign and
walked out of Finley Stadium with three points over the conference powerhouse Chattanooga
FC. The Revolution started quickly with a high pressing counterattack led by captain Jack Gurr
whose cross into the box got immediately to forward Jumar Oakley who scored the opening goal.
The first half continued with Chattanooga FC controlling the possession and trying to contain the
Revolution’s counterattack. Chattanooga responded with a quick goal in the 25 th minute and then
put themselves up 2-1 with a clinical cross into the box during stoppage in the first half.

The game changed immediately in the second half as the Revolution’s defense stymied any
chance that Chattanooga had in the offensive zone with big saves by goalkeeper Matija
Gligorovic to keep the Revolution in the game leading up to a second goal by Oakley during the
74 th minute of play. Oakley finished his magnificent performance with a hat trick in the 79 th
minute of play and the Revolution never looked back as they hung on for their first win of 2019
against a heavy favorite in Chattanooga FC.

“I was not prepared to have a night like this; Im not going to lie,” Oakley said. “This is a really
big win. This is our first win, so now it’s time for us to bounce back. And this gives us a lot of
confidence to bounce back, so it’s a big win.”

Oakley joined elite company with his hat trick against Chattanooga FC. It was the second hat
trick in the Georgia Revolution FC history and the first since Poku, who scored three goals
against the Real Colorado Foxes in the 2013 U.S. Open Cup First Round. Oakley has started
four games for the Revolution this season and now leads the team with four goals after his Man
of the Match performance against Chattanooga FC.
