The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that the league has been designated by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) as Tier 1, the top tier of soccer within the USASA. Read the full press release from the USASA here.
“We are proud to make this announcement in partnership with the USASA,” NPSL Chairman Kenny Farrell said. “It’s exciting to see that the NPSL has been named the top tier in adult men’s soccer within USASA. This announcement speaks to everything that the league has accomplished over the past 20 years, and we are looking forward to making an even bigger impact on the American soccer landscape in the years ahead. Today is a momentous occasion for everyone involved with the NPSL, including our teams, players, coaches, supporters, and sponsors.”
Tier 1 is considered to be superior in performance, professionalism, minimum standards, financial stability, and sustainability. This is the first designation of its kind within the USASA that includes financial expectations as a criteria. Further criteria includes a national footprint and multiple years of status of being a national league.
“The National Premier Soccer League is currently the only men’s national league member of the United States Adult Soccer Association,” USASA President John Motta said. “Being our only men’s national league, they hold the highest level designation within the USASA. The NPSL has been a valuable member of USASA for many years, and we hope to continue this partnership for many more.”
The Tier 1 designation for the NPSL begins immediately and is contingent on the NPSL remaining a member of the USASA and continuing to meet the criteria.
