WEST REGION PREPS FOR PLAYOFFS

Here are some highlights from this weekend’s action in the NPSL:

The Sacramento Gold clinched the Golden Gate Conference title this weekend, thanks to a win over the San Francisco Stompers.  The conference title gives the Gold an automatic spot in the West Region playoffs.

In Keystone Conference action, the Buxmont Torch continued their downward slide at the hands of the Clarkstown SC Eagles when Bljedi Bardic scored two goals to lead his team to a 2-1 comeback win against the Torch on June 29th.

The race for the playoffs in the Midwest Region is extremely tight with a number of teams fighting for the four postseason positions.  The Erie Admirals kept themselves in the hunt on Sunday, defeating AFC Cleveland 2-1 in a match that lasted just 61 minutes because of inclement weather. The Royals did pick up three points of their own on Friday night as they defeated FC Buffalo 2-1.

The Fort Worth Vaqueros were eliminated from playoff contention in the South Central after losses to Corinthians FC of SA and Dallas City FC.

The Myrtle Beach Mutiny defeated the Carolina Railhawks U-23s by a 4-2 margin. Max Weston would claim a brace for the Mutiny with RJ Bass and Anton Hysen adding a goal apiece.
