EXCITING FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND FOR NPSL SOCCER
It was a great Father’s Day weekend of action in the NPSL. Teams have begun jockeying for playoff position, especially in the West Region. Here are some highlights:
West Region
FC Hasental was able to slip past the San Diego Flash 2-1 thanks to goals from Carlos Benaivides and Faisal Abduljawad. FCH will now turn its attention to June 22 as they matchup with conference leaders FC Force at Thousand Oaks HS.
South Region
Over 1500 fans and supporters turned out to see Oklahoma City FC score five goals in the second half on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Tulsa Athletics.
Corinthians FC of San Antonio remained undefeated at Toyota Field as the team won 2-1 against Dallas City FC in their second conference home game of the season.
Despite quality chances in the second half, Chesterfield United fell to D.C. United 1-0 in a close match.
The Upward Stars defeated the Myrtle Beach Mutiny 2-1 thanks to an incredible goal from Tayeb Ahmeda. See the goal here.
Midwest Region
AFC Cleveland limped to consecutive losses, falling to FC Buffalo 3-0 and Detroit City FC 5-1. University of Michigan standout Tyler Arnone scored a brace for DCFC on Sunday.
